Thomas Robsahm er produsent, regissør, skuespiller, musiker, og mottok nylig en BAFTA Film Award-nominasjon (Oscar) for "Verdens verste menneske", sammen med regissør Joachim Trier. Vi er glade for å ha Thomas Robsahm som en av bidragsyterne under Halden Internasjonale Musikkfilm Festival.

Som barneskuespiller på 1970- og 80-tallet fant Robsahm raskt ut at han likte seg like godt på den andre siden av kameraet. Han debuterte som filmregissør med "Svarte pantere" i 1992. Dette førte til nominasjoner og anerkjennelse for mange filmer som "Thranes metode", «SOS», "Louder than Bombs", 2020-dokumentaren "a-ha: The Movie" og mange andre.

I 2015 begynte han arbeidet med dokumentaren a-ha - The Movie. Filmen handler om bandet og hele dets karriere, og følger bandet på turné og over en periode på fire år. Den forteller historien om hvordan tre unge menn fulgte den umulige drømmen om å bli norske popstjerner, og de ble de første og eneste nordmennene som toppet de amerikanske hitlistene med "Take On Me" i 1985.

Producer, director, actor, musician, the multi-talented Robsahm recently received a BAFTA Film Award nomination for “The Worst Person in the World”, shared with Joachim Trier. We are pleased to count Thomas Robsahm as part of the Halden International Music Film Festival initiative.

Beginning as a child actor in the 1970s and 80s, as a young teenager Robsahm quickly found he was just as much at home on the other side of the camera, debuting as debuted as a feature film director with Svarte Panthere (“Black Panthers”) in 1992. This led to nominations and recognition for many films such as “Thelma”, “SOS”, Louder than Bombs, the 2020 documentary a-ha: The Movie and many others.

In 2015, he began work on the documentary a-ha - The Movie. The film covers the band and its entire career, following the band over a period of three years. It follows the band on tour, telling the full story of how three young men followed their impossible dream of becoming Norwegian pop stars – becoming the first and only Norwegians to top to the US charts, with Take On Me reaching number 1 on Billboard in the US in 1985.
