Presenting Host Halden
Halden is a Norwegian town located at the Swedish frontier on the far southeastern border of Norway, the Gateway to Europe. This charming town is located by the Norwegian fjord called Iddefjord, and features cobblestone streets, shops, boutiques and restaurants of many kinds as well as river promenades.

Halden is well-known for its creative nature and individuality of its citizens. Filmmakers, musicians, artists and entrepreneurs may travel far and wide, but more often than not are drawn by to this picturesque town.
This historic town features the Fredriksten fortress that dominates the landscape – a fortress that has protected the southern flank of the country for over 400 years. Towering far above the town nestled in the valley by the harbour leading to the North Sea and the world beyond, the fortress Fredriksten has besieged many times, but never captured.
Now, this rich history is part of the Halden story, and we invite to learn more as ww share with you some of the places and stories that make Halden and the region a memorable place as the host of the Halden International Music Film Festival.
