DOC: IMMEDIATE FAMILY

Denny Tedesco with a documentary about the band that played on ‘everyone's records’ in LA in the 1970s.

Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar (guitar/vocals), Leland Sklar (bass), Russ Kunkel (drums), Waddy Wachtel (guitar/vocals) and Steve Postell played with "everyone" and keep it going today as the band called Immediate Family, with own record releases.

Tedesco is aiming to do the same for the musicians who largely took over the baton from "The Wrecking Crew" in the 1970s.

Tedesco has interviewed a large number of artists who have benefited from their skills; Jackson Browne, Carole King, James Taylor, Stevie Nicks, Phil Collins, David Crosby, Neil Young, Lyle Lovett, Keith Richards and Linda Ronstadt.

In addition, industry legend Lou Adler, actor (and musician) Billy Bob Thornton and new Rolling Stones drummer Steve Jordan, who from time to time plays in Keith Richard's solo band with Waddy Wachtel.

Follow up to “The Wrecking Crew”

Fourteen years ago, Denny Tedesco made the film "The Wrecking Crew" about the band that played on everyone's records in the 1960s in Los Angeles, from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to The Beach Boys, Phil Spector, The Byrds and The Mamas & the Papas.

The film received a lot of attention, not least because these musicians, who created the magic that meant so much to so many, were virtually unknown.

Musicians who significantly contributed to a large number of releases on the company Asylum records achieving an exceptionally high musical level and became an industry standard.

Musicians, who, once again, were only known to those of us who turned the record covers and read the fine print – now known to all.
