Far to the southeast in Norway on the frontier to Sweden lies the town of Halden. This is the true deep south of the country, the home to the Americana music movement, and an oasis for homegrown creativity within music, film and the arts.
It is here that the premier Halden International Music Film Festival (Halden IMFF) will be staged from 16-18 February 2023.
Indeed, music is the universal language. For as long as humans have been expressing themselves creatively, music has been a part of that expression. On the other hand, in comparison, film is in its infancy.
Since the birth of film as a communication and entertainment genre, the combination of film and music has long been a classic way to both entertain and educate.
We will explore this combination at the premier Halden International Music Film Festival to be staged from Wednesday 16 to Friday 18 February 2023.
With music films, round tables, panels, workshops and networking events, the Halden IMFF will focus on current developments in music film as part of culture, society, business and entertainment.
COME TOGETHER
The event will bring together those who have already marked their territory where music meets film, also opening the door to students and younger talents seeking to carve out their place in the film and music industries.
Set in the historic town of Halden on the southern Norwegian border – with a fortress that has protected the southern flank of the country for over 400 years – there could not be a better place to bring together innovative and creative people from Norway and internationally.
COLLABORATORS
We aim high, that the Halden International Music Film Festival will become an annual “Perfect Storm”, a combination of music films, round tables, panels, workshops, and networking events. The strength of the festival will be the focus on current developments in music film as part of culture, society, business and entertainment – bringing together creative talents.
